Henry Greener

Henry Greener produced a lot of Artistic Victorian Glass and some designs are very elaborate.

Henry Greener was born in Sunderland and at the age of 12 he was an apprentice to a glass manufacturer - John Price of Gateshead.

1858 - Henry Greener and James Angus acquired the wear flint glass works in Trimdon Street and traded as Angus & Greener

1869 - James Angus died (ref Raymond Slack) and Henry continues making pressed glass under his own name Henry Greener Wear Flint Glass Works.

1870’s C - Henry Greener moved the factory to a site in Millfield

1882 - Henry Greener died and his executors carried on the business

1885 C - The Company now became known as Greener & Co Wear Flint Glass Works, Millfield. They were facing bankruptcy and one James A. Jobling took over the company.

1921 - Mr Jobling changed the name of the company to James A. Jobling & Co Ltd
